The Second City offers unique curriculum based workshops that enrich the work of thousands of Grade 6 –Grade 12 students each year in the Greater Toronto Area.
These workshops are fun and fast-paced. They’re allow the participants to find the confidence to find their inner voice and bring our their funny.
Using fundamental improvisation techniques, these programs help students develop such skills as listening, team building, physical and verbal communication, idea generation, vocabulary, inferencing, sequencing, self-confidence, social integration, and empathy.
Since the early 1970's, The Second City Training Centre has been redefining the art of comedy. It is the training ground for many of this generation's finest comedic actors, writers, directors and business leaders. Catherine O’Hara, Mike Myers, Gilda Radner, Joe Flahrety, Robin Duke, Paul Bates, Colin Mochrie are amongst the great Alumni. Today, The Second City Training Centre is the largest school of improvisation and sketch comedy in the world.

This program has been in development for over 50 years and is implemented in Second City Training Centres throughout North America. You will explore the art of improvisation through 5 levels. If you are looking to improve audition skills, hone your creative & presentational skills, learn some basic theatrical and improvisational concepts through improvisation, and generally have a good time, this program is for you.
Level A Intensive is the introduction to our 5 level improv program. Learn basic scene terminology, and the communication and listening skills that will get you ready for Levels B-E. Complete the course over two weekends!
